In Amsterdam, all of the buildings are brick. They all are brick, but are many different shapes. There are many, many, bikes everywhere - they bike racks are all full. The streets are small and the sidewalks are large. You have a big space to ride your bike in the cold with many other bikes, passing brick buildings. The Dutch ride bikes really fast, and so they pass you and you pass brick. It is very cold and wind, like yesterday, I felt like I was going to fly.
I really like how you noticed that there are small streets and big sidewalks. I never thought about that- but you are right! It makes it easier for us to walk to the markets :)
ReplyDeleteI have told all my friends about all the brick and the bikes too! It is like San Francisco row houses but out of brick. Good thing they don't have earthquakes as that is why San Francisco does not use brick for buildings. I loved looking at all the different ways they created designs for each building to make it different from all the other brick ones - very creative.
